About the Judges

Mr Michael Faulkner

Regular and Non-Regular Classes

Active in Junior Showmanship as a youngster, Michael acquired his first Golden Retriever, along with Field Spaniels in the early 70s, starting a lifelong love for these two breeds.

During the late 1970’s he maintained a breeding program and actively showed his Golden Retrievers, Field Spaniels, Springer Spaniels and Pointers while attending college.   For 12 years, he partnered with David White (Woodspoint Springer Spaniels) dominating the Sporting Groups completing championships in all of the Sporting breeds.

Michael takes the role of judging extremely seriously and refuses to compromise when evaluating breeding stock. He often quotes his mentor Peggy Grayson: "It is the ability to understand the subtle nuances of each breed that makes for a truly great judge."

Faulkner embarked on a judging career in 1995.and is approved to judge all Sporting breeds and numerous other breeds in five of the seven groups. He has had numerous national specialty assignments, international judging experiences, and multiple Westminster Kennel Club & AKC  National Championship assignments

Michael continues his Golden Retriever breeding program with his partner: Dr. Anne Greenbank, under the "Verdoro and Woodspoint" prefixes.

Ms Kendal Walters

Puppy & Veteran Sweepstakes

Kendal is a lifetime animal lover who began her venture into raising purebred animals with 4-H cattle showing and livestock judging many years ago.  In 2009 she purchased her first show prospect Portuguese Water Dog and this began her journey into the purebred dog world.

Her adventure with the Lagotto began in 2014 with the addition of Fiesta, a spunky Italian girl who could light up a room with her energy.   Fiesta became one of the first ever AKC Lagotto champions in 2015.

Kendal is a member of both the PWDCA and the LRCA and has served in committee and board positions. She has bred over 20 champions and numerous performance titled dogs under the Boardwalk prefix.

Kendal is a middle school teacher who enjoys spending time with her family.  She gives God all the glory for any and every good thing in this life, and is grateful for all the beautiful dogs He created that we all get to enjoy.  To be judging Sweeps this year for this amazing breed is both an honor and a privilege.
